The history

La Corte in Giorgino is a complex of great historical value and as such is under the protection of the Ministry of the Cultural Heritage. It contains a wealth of vestiges of the life and culture of the city of Cagliari. Inside the court is the small church of Saint Efisio in which for centuries the martyr has completed the first leg of the long journey to the place of his martyrdom at Nora.

The church and the adjoining sacristy, coach room and wings border on the manor to form a single four-sided complex that recalls the model of the "court", that is, the suburban villa which originally was part of the estate of the family of Count Conte Michele Ciarella, the direct ancestor of the Counts Ballero, to whose family the entire complex still belongs.
